Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, its another project from Rewound and found.
I have combined two films in one page here with 1978’s Superman the movie and the 1980 sequel. This ties in with the films as part one and two were being filmed at the same time but due to creative differences between the studio and the director Richard Donner only 75% of Superman 2 had been filmed when the first film was completed. Richard Donner was replaced as director of Superman 2 by Richard Lester who re shot many scenes and changed the opening and ending of the film.
The list of actors considered for the lead roll included Dustin Hoffman, Mohamed Ali, Sylvester Stallone and Robert Redford but for me, Superman will always be Christopher Reeve.
This is the first film I ever watched from a video tape so when I found myself in the film locations I had to try and document them even though I hadn’t fully formulated a way to display them while I was in California and Nevada back in 2004.
This is why the Hoover dam shots and Golden gate shots don’t quite line up as well as I would like them to but I have Included them anyway to complete the set.
This set currently holds the record for covering the greatest distance geographically as it contains shots from Niagara Falls in Canada and then travels as far south as Hoover Dam Nevada.
I hope you enjoy the videos and picture sets below and if you have any connection to the film please get in touch and let me know.
